At SmartHR, Corporate Social Responsibility is important to us…we are a socially responsible employer actively supporting the local community.

In May 2022, we took part in Victim Support Isle of Man’s 267,000 Step Challenge and collectively the team walked 1,113,972 steps and raised £1,100 for this fantastic local charity.

We are a long-time supporter of Junior Achievement Isle of Man (JAIOM), a Manx registered charity dedicated to addressing the social and economic challenges faced by young people. We are proud to have sponsored various events over many years. JAIOM uses cutting-edge experiential learning to help young people in education to transform their future and their own economic success. With the help of over 500 volunteers, JAIOM runs programmes covering all schools in the Isle of Man, that focus on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.  Our team also volunteers for JAIOM to support the local community.

We sponsored JAIOM’s Big Christmas Challenge festive competition in December 2021, and each year our Managing Director, Gail Yeowell, judges JAIOM’s Company of the Year Programme. The team also provide support and volunteer delivering JAIOM’s programmes in schools whenever possible.

We have donated a luxury hamper as a raffle prize for a Manx Breast Cancer Support Group event in November 2021, as well as donating a raffle prize for JAIOM’s Big Manx Challenge.

In September 2021, we sponsored the table presents for the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Gala Dinner.

We donated £500 to Isle Listen in May 2021 to celebrate our 11th business anniversary and know the money will be put to good use.

In October 2020, the team turned pink to support the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group. 

In September 2020 Team SmartHR completed JAIOM’s The Big Summer Walk. We set ourselves the goal of walking or running a combined distance of 300km. We were extremely proud to achieve a total distance of 730km. We raised £800 and won the Team Fundraising prize!

We have also sponsored Selborne Badminton Club for four seasons from 2017 to 2020.  Selborne is a long-established Manx Badminton Club with a number of teams playing at all levels within the Isle of Man Badminton League. 

Previously, we have supported the Isle of Man Art Society and we sponsored a Waiting Area at the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group‘s breast unit. This charity is dedicated to fundraising and improving breast cancer services on the Isle of Man.  We have also provided various food and toy hampers to Isle of Man Foodbank.

We’re delighted to be able to support these charities and get involved with our Island community, to help them deliver their fantastic services locally.
